Some Things | Vol. 54: Oh, baby, you should go and love yourself"The definition of self-acceptance is the complete acceptance of oneself, of both your positive and negative traits."It appears, on this occasion, Justin Bieber might be wrong...With it being Valentine's Day this week we wanted to recognise the shift in youth culture we’re seeing from a desire for self-love to one of self-acceptance. Increasingly, amongst our community of creators & cultural leaders, we’re hearing about an acceptance of peoples ‘imperfections’ & a shift away from the constant need to change & improve oneself. In our experience, it’s when creators & brands focus less on being aspirational & more on transparency & enabling conversations around discovery & acceptance that they are able to play a more valuable & relevant role in peoples lives. So, with that in mind, here are Some Things that we LOVE this week:

  1. Is swiping Memes the future of dating? via Schmooze

  2. Or maybe you'll find love through Untyping via Screenshot

  3. We LOVE this work from Lakshmi Hussein, a London based artist who focuses on celebrating your body, no matter what shape or size it is via Instagram

  4. Not feeling Valentine's Day this year? Then we've got the perfect playlist for you via Spotify

  5. Channel your inner Donté Colley - because you matter via Instagram

  6. The Old Gays teach us a lesson in this new & inclusive collection this Valentine's day via TikTok

  7. Self-acceptance is about your mind as much as your body. It's ok to not be ok. Jordan Stephens from Rizzle Kicks reminds us why via YouTube
